Agatized dinosaur gembone piece

Agatized dinosaur gembone from Utah, sourced from the Morrison Formation. Over millions of years the original bone material was replaced by silica, preserving the internal cell structure in agate. What you see in the pattern is the actual cellular architecture of ancient bone, frozen in stone. Jeremy cut this cabochon at the bench, and the cell structure reads clean and distinct across the face.
